Knots on the Wash

A huge flight of waders, mainly Knots, over the Wash at sunrise. The Wash is one of the largest estuaries in the United Kingdom and is fed by the Rivers Witham, Welland, Nene and Great Ouse. At low tide a big part of the Wash turns into mud. In autumn thousands of migrating birds visit the Wash for a stopover.
